Backgrounds

On Tuesday my class explored blog backgrounds not available on Blogger.  There are many more backgrounds available that I didn't even know about.  I chose a Harry Potter themed background, but there are many more backgrounds.  There is even a masculine category on the website.  Here is a picture of my blog with the new back ground.

Personas

The other day we learned about personas.  What a persona is, is a customizable top to your Firefox page.  There are tons of personas available.  I chose one on the Indiana Pacers NBA basketball team, but there are many more choices.  Here is a picture of my persona. Unfortunately this only works for Firefox, so you must have Firefox downloaded on your computer.

FeedJit

The other day my class explored FeedJit.  FeedJit is a traffic site where you can see live traffic feed of who's visiting your site.  You can get a free account on FeedJit and see who's visiting your site today.  The cool thing about FeedJit is that it will tell you what country they're from, what browser they use, what website they came from, and even what they looked at on your site.

Favicon

Today in class we created favicons.  They are tiny icons next to your web address that you design.  They are really interesting to make.  I made a smily face with a goatee and a mustache.  Here is a picture of my favicon.  I had a great time making my favicon and you can too.  Favicons can really spice up your website and all the major websites have one.  You can make your blog look professional with a favicon.

Blogging on the iPad

Today in class I am making a post from my blogger iPad app. I believe this is a user friendly app and it is fairly easy to create a post. Unfortunately it is a tad bit harder to edit your post and you can't see where the picture that you are going to post with will end up. Other than these minor details the blogger app is helpful and I love the autocorrect. I would definitely recommend the app to my fellow bloggers. I think that you would be able to blog with just an iPad. Here is a picture of what the app version of my blog looks like.

Symbaloo

Today my class explored Symbaloo and it was fun.  Symbaloo is a social bookmarking website, and what that is, is it's a place where people can share what websites they like by making links on a page.  All of the links are like big shortcuts to a website.  You can get a free Symbaloo account to make your own links.  This is a picture of my sports webmix.  If you like you can search it and put that page on your Symbaloo site.  You can make as many pages of webmixes on your account as you want.  My webmix include sports teams from the NFL, NBA, Barclays Premiere League, NHL, and MLS.  I hope you enjoy it!

Blog Gadgets

Hello blog viewers, today I will be talking about blog gadgets that I found to be interesting.

First, there is Harry Potter Quittich Lessons.  This fun gadget tells you about random and funny rules that are used in the sport quittich.  Next, I found a gadget for your own pet wolf.  The wolf will follow your cursor around and if you press the more button a piece of animated meat will replace your cursor.  You then can feed your pet wolf.  Thirdly, I found a gadget named Random Sports Cards.  This gadget will show a famous player with one of the best cards available for that player.  Then, I found a gadget called Fish.  This gadget allows you to have pet fish that you can feed.  Finally, the most useful gadget is the pageview tracker.  This gadget will tell you how many views your blog has had.

Blog Stats

As of January 14, 2013 I have 46 blog views.  There are a multiple browsers that have visited my blog, most notably Safari and Firefox.  All of my views so far have come from the United States.  Most of my traffic has come from my classmates blogs, but the number one non classmate traffic source is http://absensewatchdog.com.
