Blogging can be a fun, interesting process, but it can also be dangerous. You never know who will look at your blog. For example if in the future you apply for a job you might lose to a competitor because of something you posted on your blog years ago. Here's my X (10) commandments for blogging safely.
I. Never ever use your last name on your blog.
II. If you want to write an opinion on your blog make sure it is not offensive.
III. Always check over your grammar before you post something so you don't want to embarrassed.
IV. Never disrespect someone else in your blog. You wouldn't like that being done to you.
V. Never write about someone without their permission, and if they do grant permission only use their first name.
VI. Watch your language on your blog. People do not want to see your vulgar language on a blog.
VII. Make sure you post facts. Do not post rumors that you hear.
VIII. Don't link your personal blog to your school blog. You might reveal information on your personal blog that you do not want to reveal on your school blog.
IX. Keep your blog education oriented. I don't want to hear about a party that you went to on your school blog.
X. Be careful about what pictures you post because you never know if your boss will find out an inappropriate photo that you posted on your blog years ago.
